Custom made lamps.

These are some recent one of a kind lamps. These lamps were all created by Randy Nelson of Nelsons Designs.  Click on the picture to see larger version.

Have created a selection using birch logs from dead standing trees on my property on the North Shore of Lake Superior in Minnesota.  These have unique knots, bark and worm holes which show through.  Some have slight cracks from the natural drying process.

I only use quality UL rated heavy duty sockets, harps, finials, cords and threaded tubes.

All lamps are signed and numbered on the bottom.  With the variety of the birch wood there are no two exactly alike.

The shades are my design which include tops and bottoms made from Trupan a type of MDF which contains very little formaldehyde and is considered a green product.  The slats are made from western red cedar.  The tops have cutouts tying into the lamp design.  They are finished using water based finishes from Sculpt Nouveau and CrystaLac.

These shades give off a mood type lighting.
